Cushing Slapped With 4 Game Suspension For P.E.D.

After losing his appeal on Friday, 2009 Defensive Rookie of the Year Brian Cushing was suspended by the NFL for violation of the league's Performance Enhancing Drug Policy.

Brian Cushing filed an appeal after being notified of the matter in February, but was rejected on Friday and was notified by the NFL that he will serve a 4 game suspension to start the 2010 regular season. Cushing, who led the Houston Texans in tackling this season with 134, is a devastating loss considering their first 4 opponents and that he is the Texans most versatile defender. Houston opens the season against divison rival and defending AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts, and continue on to face the Redskins, Cowboys, and Raiders.

This news is crushing to everyone in the city of Houston including this writer, who were expecting the Texans to ascend to the next level and contend in the playoffs. Now all we can do is hope that the Texans do not start their season 0-4.
