New Deal For Kubiak ?

Reports from the Houston Texans today stated that Texans' owner Bob McNair and head coach Gary Kubiak are negotiating a contract extension that will possibly extend Kubiak to the 2013 season.

Considering that Houston's goal for this season was to ascend to the next level, meaning the playoffs, a long term extension is ludicrous. Kubiak only managed 1 more win than the Texans earned in the previous 2 seasons.

Does coach Kubiak deserve to coach lame duck, of course not. However, I do not think that mediocrity deserves 3 more years either. Extend Kubiak for one season and put coach on the hot seat for the 2010 season, playoffs or the road.
