Shannahan Leaves Texans, Dennison Takes Over

After Kyle Shannahan left the Texans to go coach for his father, Mike Shannahan in Washington, the Texans worked fast and hired long time Denver faithful Rick Dennison to be the new Offensive Coordinator.

The 51-year-old coach has spent 25 years in the NFL, both as a coach and a player, all with the Denver Broncos. Dennison worked with Head Coach Gary Kubiak in Denver for 11 seasons. Dennison replace Kubiak as Offensive Coordinator when Kubiak left the Broncos in 2006.

What this move does for Houston is it keeps a very familiar offensive scheme to an already prolific offense led by QB Matt Schaub and WR Andre Johnson. Hopefully the addition of Dennison will also help the Texans get over their regular season humps and finally get into the playoffs.
