TE Jeremy Shockey and Saints' Head Coach Sean Payton finally got their wish as Shockey was traded From New York to New Orleans today for the Saints' second and fifth round picks in the 2009 NFL Draft.

New York was able to win the Super Bowl without Shockey earlier this year as he was out with an in jury and rookie Kevin Boss filled his shoes nicely. After the good post season performance from Boss, the Giants and Shockey were ready to part ways.

New Orleans' Head Coach Sean Payton and his willful perseverance finally able to do the deal with Shockey and Giants, a deal Payton has been driving for since February. Before becoming Head Coach of the Saints, Sean Payton was an Offensive Coordinator for the Giants during Jeremy Shockey's rookie season when he was more involved in the down field passing game with 74 receptions for 894 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

Definitely this move of Shockey into the Saints' offense is an aggressive move to improve the Saints' productivity from where it lacked last season.
