Coming off their worst season in history, the belittled Dolphins have problems up and down the depth chart. Even though QB isn't the only place they are hurting, it's a damn good place to start.
2.) St. Louis Rams - Chris Long, DE Virginia
The Rams could improve at DT and DE. However, with the aging and withering Leonard Little on the strong side, I believe it's time to find his replacement and return the meaning of "Strong Side Defensive End" to their front four.
3.) Atlanta Falcons - Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU
Any addition to the Falcons defense at this point would be an improvement since they were 29th overall in points allowed and 29th in overall yards allowed. Why not take the 2007 Lombardi Award Winner and 2007 Bednarik Award Finalist?
4.) Oakland Raiders - Sedrick Ellis, DT USC
I know what you're going to say, "Why not Darren McFadden"? The reason is the Raiders are stacked at RB and they ranked 6th last year in rushing yards. Plus with the retirement of future Hall Of Famer Warren Sapp, Ellis will make a solid addition to the Raiders' defensive front.
5.) Kansas City - Jake Long, OT Michigan
The Chiefs only won 4 games last season because they couldn't put the points on the board. Granted their defense was mediocre at best, but you can't win if you can't score. The addition of Jake Long will give them the opportunity to pass the ball and open up holes for RBs Johnson and Holmes.
6.) New York Jets - Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas
The Jets are far from solid at QB and RB, but in this draft class McFadden is a steal at 6th. He is solid at all aspects of the position and the Jets cannot expect Thomas Jones to lead them to their first division title since 2002. Granted the Jets have picked up a couple RBs in off season, but it will be McFadden on draft day.
7.) New England Patriots - Leodis McKelvin, CB Troy
With the loss of Pro Bowler Asante Samuel to Philadelphia and Randall Gay to New Orleans, the Pats would benefit tremendously with the addition of McKelvin. McKelvin did nothing short of shine at both the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine in which he became the clear front runner at the CB position.
8.) Baltimore Ravens - Vernon Gholston, DE/LB Ohio State
The Ravens will seek power and speed in their front seven with the addition of Gholston. With his speed and agility, Gholston will make a great addition in the defense of new head couch John Harbaugh.
9.) Cincinnati Bengal - Rashard Mendenhall, RB Illinois
Looking to round out their already productive offense, the Bengals will look to none other than Rashard Mendenhall to complete ensemble. With the declining performance of Rudy Johnson, Mendenhall will be a well rounded addition to the Cincinnati roster.
10.) New Orleans - Mike Jenkins, CB South Florida
With the additions of Dan Morgan, Jonathan Vilma, Randall Gay, and Bobby McCray, the Saints are going to look to round out their defense with Big East superstar Mike Jenkins. With the uncertain health of Mike McKenzie, Jenkins is a solid choice for the second CB position.
11.) Buffalo Bills - Malcolm Kelly, WR Oklahoma
With the 30th ranked passing offense and offensive points, the Bills are going to look to add a big target in Malcolm Kelly to there wide receiver core led by Lee Evans. Evans and Kelly will give the Bills' J.P. Losman better chances for down field and end zone opportunities.
12.) Denver Broncos - Ryan Clady, OT Boise State
The lack of protection for quarterback Jay Cutler was the story of the Broncos offense last season having allowed 32 sacks. Ryan Clady could be the perfect addition to their front five if utilized correctly.
13.) Carolina Panthers - Brian Brohm, QB Louisville
With the lackluster season the Panthers had because of their problems at quarterback, they will be looking fix that on draft day. Thanks to Brohm staying for his senior year, Carolina is in position to acquire an explosive quarterback that should meld well with their receivers.
14.) Chicago Bears - Chris Williams, OT Vanderbilt
The Bears have a few problems to address on offense, but considering the pickup of Brandon Lloyd at wide receiver, they will look to enhance their already aging offensive line. Chris Williams matched up great in the Senior Bowl and had a strong showing at the NFL Combine and will be ideal for Da' Bears!
15.) Detroit Lions - Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, CB Tennessee State
This Division-IAA standout can make an incredible difference in the Lions' secondary which has been torched the past couple of seasons. This will help them in the pass defense which they were ranked in dead last this past season. If the Lions can hold with receivers better in the secondary, it might be just what their offense needs to shine when they get the ball.
16.) Arizona Cardinals - Jonathan Stewart, RB Oregon
Lets be honest, the only offensive weapon the Cardinals don't have is a running back. Edgerrin James is not gonna take the Cardinals to the playoffs as we've seen. Stewart runs great up the middle and can pull away downfield from defenders. This is the spike Arizona needs for their offense to succeed and to help their superior receivers get open more frequently.
17.) Minnesota Vikings - Jeff Otah, OT Pittsburgh
The Vikings will be looking to add more protection and open up more rushing lanes for their bombshell and Offensive Rookie Of The Year Adrian Peterson. Jeff Otah will make a great addition to their other bulldozing Tackle Bryant McKinnie.
18.) Houston Texans - DeSean Jackson, WR California
The Texans started last season with a bang until WR Andre Johnson got injured and the team began shooting blanks. By adding DeSean Jackson you are expanding your speed down field and allowing for more targets for QB Matt Schaub. Alot of people have gone here and there with this pick, but I believe Jackson will be the answer and ultimate choice for Texans success in the 2008 season.
19.) Philadelphia Eagles - Limas Sweed, WR Texas
Philly has been hurting for a playmaker at Wide Receiver since the departure of Terrell Owens. A definite good start for them is Limas Sweed who has been a prime target for Texas QBs for the past 4 years. Sweed brings great size and power to the position and, if used well, will be a good addition.
20.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Antoine Cason, CB Arizona
With the exception of their performance in the playoffs, the Buccaneers defense was on the money last season. To keep that machine going you have to look long term. Veteran CB Ronde Barber has one or two seasons at best left in him so his successor should be good at the game as he is and Antoine Cason could be that individual.
21.) Washington Redskins - Calais Campbell, DE Miami
Jim Zorn and John Palermo are going to look to add some you and speed to their defensive front early on draft day. Campbell has speed and versatility and could be a great weapon for the Redskins to utilize in 2008. Even as an underclassman, Campbell outshines the competition at DE in this draft class.
22.) Dallas Cowboys - Early Doucet, WR LSU
With the end in sight for one of the Dallas' WR and the other's coming soon, the Cowboys will look to add youth and speed to their offensive unit. Early Doucet torched defenses in the SEC up and down the field last season at LSU and helped to take the Tigers to to their BCS Championship.
23.) Pittsburgh Steelers - Aqib Talib, CB Kansas
The Steelers will be looking to capitalize on the defensive side of the ball on draft day as they will be picking up a big time playmaker at CB to assist their aging CB Deshea Townsend. Talib is big, fast, and extremely athletic and he proved that last season as he rocked the Big 12.
24.) Tennessee Titans - Devin Thomas, WR Michigan State
Tennessee on draft day will be adding an extra offensive threat for QB Vince Young to utilize. The Titans' offensive production through the air last season was less than mediocre to say the least so they will be looking to address that with Devin Thomas on draft day.
